The extension runs in Chromium browsers; Chrome version 88 or later is recommended.
Permissions and what they are for
- Side panel
- Shows the verification flow next to the current page.
- Offscreen documents
- Runs proof generation in a separate context so the browser stays responsive.
- Storage
- Keeps verification state between steps.
- Active tab
- Opens and follows the provider sign-in tab.
- Web request
- Observes the signed-in provider session to capture the fields a proof needs.
Access to a specific provider’s site is requested separately, at the moment a data source is selected, and is revoked automatically after a successful proof. The extension does not hold standing access to any provider.
What happens to captured data during a proof is described precisely in privacy.
After installing
Return to the app that requested verification and start again; the extension opens as a side panel. The steps are described in creating a proof.
