Data sources

A data source is an existing online account that already holds a verified fact, for example an exchange account that has passed KYC. Keyring Connect proves the fact directly from the provider’s own responses during a signed-in session; nothing is re-verified and nothing is uploaded.

Sources

The extension shows the sources configured for the requesting policy, so a given app may offer a subset of these sources.

Only the listed fields can enter a proof for that source. Everything else in the session is never captured or is cryptographically redacted, as described in privacy.

What policies do with the fields

A policy combines these fields into rules: KYC verified, KYB verified for businesses, or residency conditions built on the country field (for example, excluding FATF-listed jurisdictions or requiring EU residency). The credential a wallet receives attests to the rule outcome, never to the field values themselves.

Choosing a source

Any listed source leads to the same credential; pick whichever account already exists and is convenient to sign in to. If a source repeatedly fails because the account is missing required information, retry with a different provider, as covered in troubleshooting.
